Mrs. Wilma Boman, age 76 of Vernon, AL, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at her residence.

Mrs. Boman was born November 27, 1937, in Marengo Co., AL, to the late Aubrey and Jessie Lee Vick and was married to the late John H. Boman. Mrs. Boman taught 12th and 11th grade English at Lamar Co. High School then later taught third grade at Vernon Elementary. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and Retired Teachers Association and attended church at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be held Friday at 11:00 at the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Cemetery with Glen Boman officiating.

Mrs. Boman is survived by her son, John Darren (Phyllis) Boman of Vernon, AL; her daughter, Ashley (John) Springfield of Dora, AL; her grandson, Hunter Boman; two step-grandchildren, Brad (Brittney) May and Kisha (Dan) Cantrell; six great-grandchildren, Eli Cantrell, Olivia Cantrell, Linzley May, Tryson May, Abel Cantrell, and Brix May; three brothers, Wallace Vick, Woody Vick, Donnie Vick, and Randy Vick; and two sisters, Elanor Reach and Melanie Lammon.
