Obituary
Mrs. Wilma Ruth Dooley, age 86 of Vernon, AL, passed away Monday, March 4, 2013, at Fayette Medical Center-DCH.
Mrs. Dooley was born December 14, 1926, in Lamar Co., AL to the late James Roland and Delia Yerby. She worked at First National Bank of Fayette. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Dooley; and eight brothers, Marvin Yerby, Roy Yerby, Lee Yerby, Bailey Yerby, Floyd Yerby, Jessie Yerby, Tommie Yerby, and Willie Yerby.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:00 at Union Chapel with Joe Beckon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 12-2 at the church prior to the service.
Survivors include her daughter, Diane (Joe) Turner of Vernon, AL; two grandsons, Jody (Ashley) Turner of Sheffield, AL and Walt (Cassy) Turner of Vernon, AL; three great-grandchildren, Zane Turner, Isabel Turner, Walter Turner; three special children, Mickie Jeffreys, Jackie McReynolds, and James Yerby; and a host of nephews and special friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Freewill Baptist Children's Home, 86 Academy Drive, Eldridge, AL 35554 or to the charity of your choice.
