Mrs. Wilma Geneva Shackelford, age 85 of Vernon, passed away Monday, August 27, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus.

Mrs. Shackelford was born April 11, 1933, in Lamar Co, AL, to the late Joseph Henry and Sallie Robertson.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and was married to the late Thomas Martin Shackelford.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Fellowship Baptist Church with Ron Scott and Chris Honeycutt officiating.  She will lie in state at the church 1:00-2:00 PM.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday evening 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Glenn Crawford, Jerry Minor, Cletus Minor, Billy Shackelford, Gary Don Yielding, and Rodney Bogue.

She was also preceded in death by her brothers, James Felix Robertson, James Earlie (Flois) Robertson, and Johnny Jackson (Gladys) Robertson, and her sisters, Argie Mae (Hershel) Duncan, Eva Gertrude (Homer) Sorrells, Addie Lee (Clyde) Minor, Margie Lou (Willy Banks) Mosely, Fannie Marie (Billy) Crawford,  and Bertie Jean (Edward) Hollis.

Survivors include one son, Johnny (Patty) Shackelford of Pickensville, AL; two grandsons, Ben (Jennifer) Shackelford of Huntsville, AL and Brad (Hannah) Shackelford of Vernon, AL; and five great-grandchildren, Chris Shackelford, J.T. Shackelford, Abby Shackelford, and Allie Shackelford, and Greyson Shackelford who is on the way.
