Mrs. Wynelle Butler Turner, age 78 of Vernon, AL, passed away at home on Thursday, June 14, 2018. She was born to the late Harrison Clatie Butler and Nancy Lovena Stanford Butler on May 9, 1940.
Wynelle attended Lamar County High School where she met and married William Max Turner on June 1, 1958. Max and Wynelle moved many times throughout the early years of their marriage, but settled back in Vernon in 1965. Wynelle stayed active being a homemaker and helping Max in the family grocery business. She was known throughout the community for her cooking abilities. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was an active member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
Wynelle was preceded in death by her parents, Clatie and Lou Butler, her son, Mark Turner; brothers, Banks Butler and Rollie Butler; and sister, Milarie Romerrill.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at Fellowship Baptist Church in Vernon, AL, with Chris Honeycutt and Tim Meherg officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon at the church 1:00-3:00 prior to the service.
Pall bearers will be Matthew Turner, Tyler Turner, Caleb Turner, Jackson DiCicco, Toby Patrick, and Todd Patrick.
Wynelle is survived by her husband of 60 years, Max Turner, daughter, Natalie (Dan) Allstot; son, Jason (Sonya) Turner; grandchildren, Matt (Tiffany) Turner, Tyler (Megan) Turner, Caleb (Lexie) Turner, Victoria (Mickey) Allen, Anna (Brad) Seawright, Katie (Jonathan) Huntley, Jackson DiCicco, Hillary (Jared) Miles, Caroline Turner, Madison Turner; great-grandchildren, Max, Keegan, McKenzie, Lane, McKinley, Harlow, Stella, Ella, Charlie, and Noah; her brother, Hubert (Sara) Butler; her sister, Lavelle Patrick; and host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 974 Fellowship Road, Vernon, AL 35592.
